your Sunday Morning Escape

Join us for a one-off summer event for a peaceful Sunday morning escape that combines the best of nature and wellness. Begin your day with a rejuvenating sunrise hike, including mindful breathing, calming yoga session, and the tranquil practice of forest bathing.

Sunrise Hike: 6:30AM

Rise and shine early to greet the gentle quiet of the dawn. Our guided hike will take you through scenic trails as the sun is rising for the day. Breathe in the crisp morning air as you immerse yourself in the serenity of nature waking up. There are moments where we will pause to practice pranayama (breathwork) to bring mindfulness to the journey  This moderate hike is suitable for all fitness levels and will provide a variety of views and trails.

Yoga Session

During the hike, we’ll find a peaceful clearing where you’ll be guided through a gentle yoga session. As the sun continues to rise, feel your body awaken and connect to yourself with each pose. The yoga session is designed to bring mind and body together in a grounding practice that centers your mind. Practicing outside is a special experience that can feel incredibly freeing.

Forest Bathing

We’ll take our relaxation in the practice of forest bathing, or “shinrin-yoku.” This Japanese practice involves immersing your senses in the forest, promoting awareness of the present moment, mindfulness and mental clarity. You’ll be guided to engage your senses, helping you connect with the natural environment. Take this time to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the tranquility of the forest.

End Time: 8:15 AM

We’ll conclude our morning activity with an opportunity to share your experiences with the group. Feel free to bring your favorite healthy snack . Reflect on the morning’s activities, feeling refreshed, revitalized, and ready to embrace the rest of your day with a peaceful mind.

 

What to Bring:
– Comfortable hiking shoes
– Water bottle
– Light snack
– Dress in layers (mornings can be cool)

Yoga Mats will be provided.

We’ll meet on Macclesfield Road at the layby immediately before the Wizard Tea Room as you approach the Edge from Alderley village. This is free. Note: there is another layby at the top of the hill as you leave Alderley village – it’s the next one on from this. No prior yoga experience is necessary, as modifications will be provided. You should be comfortable walking for at least an hour, with uneven ground and able to climb over stiles.
