The E714 machine tap from Dormer is manufactured to conform to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and creates NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads. The bright finish gives clean, accurate threads by ensuring the workpiece material does not stick to the cutting edge of the tool. Made from premium powder metal High Speed cobalt, you can be sure of great performance and a long tool life. With a straight flute design, the E714 can produce NPT threads in both holes which go all the way through the workpiece and also holes which stop part way through the workpiece. They can be used for threading a great many materials including steels, stainless steels and aluminium.
